YEAR IN REVIEW:2018

It's been another incredible year at RELAY.

We are so grateful for all of you and for the support and encouragement you give us by visiting our coffee bars, supporting the restaurants & cafes we roast for, and for giving us the freedom to try out new things as we get creative with coffee!

It's been an especially wonderful year because this year we celebrated our 10 Year Anniversary.

THE LUCHADOR FLAT

Teaming up with the Canadian Country Music Awards and creating our Flat White Mocha with cinnamon and a little cayenne.

 

NUMBER EIGHT


THE OPENING OF "OFF THE GRID" @ Mohawk College
A second coffee bar at the Mohawk College Fennell Campus.  This coffee bar is located in the new Joyce Centre for Partnership & Innovation wing.  It's the region’s first net-zero institutional building and it will produce as much or more energy than it consumes.

 

NUMBER SEVEN

YULETIDE COLD BREW

Hearing a few customers say they were not big egg nog fans, we went to the drawing board to create another Holiday Cold Brew.  Our peppermint mocha cold brew Yuletide flew off our shelves.  It will definitely be back in 2019!

 

NUMBER SIX

 OAT MILK
This delicious plant-based milk is now available to pair with all your favorite espresso drinks.  It's creamy & delicious! It's also free of sugar and carrageenan.

 

NUMBER FIVE

MERIT BREWING ESPRESSO PORTER
It's always fun collaborating with friends.  It was wonderful to team up with MERIT, not once, but twice.  Using RELAY's Espresso blend they created their Unstrung Hero porter. @talesfromthealetrail called it 
"Sort of the level Thor is propelled to when he receives Stormbreaker. It's unfair how rich & delicious this Espresso Porter is..."

 

NUMBER FOUR

SHIPPING CONTAINER @ SUPERCRAWL

We've been participating in Supercrawl since the beginning from beautiful sunshine-filled weekends to having cold and drenched feet under our tents.  This year we went big and converted a shipping container into a coffee bar!

 

NUMBER THREE

RATIO & YIELD + SWITCHBOARD
When we first started roasting we focused primarily on single origins.  Year 10 was a good year to play with coffee and create a couple go-to blends. Our new espresso blend Ratio & Yield has been a huge hit with our partner restaurants & cafes.  And our new Switchboard blend has become a reliable go-to choice to help caffeinate our customers daily.

 

NUMBER TWO

BAKING WITH MARY BERG
We were thrilled when Mary Berg heard that we were celebrating 10 years and wanted to help.  It was perfect timing as we had already began the process of starting a new baking line.  It was wonderful to collaborate with Mary on a delicious line-up of baking offered at both RELAY: Market and RELAY: Concession St.
